The Spiritual Listening Plan is now in Spanish!
¡El Plan Para Escuchar Espiritualmente Está Listo!
A few weeks ago we launched our first fresh expressions cohort in Spanish in Western North Carolina. Nine Hispanic/Latino congregations are setting out to start fresh expressions and will begin with deep listening. One of our presenters, Andrés Pérez González, told the story of his young daughter (who is bilingual) watching Frozen in Spanish for the first time. She looked at him and said with excitement, “Dad, Anna and Elsa speak Spanish!”
I’m excited to announce that through the generous translation work of Alma W. Pérez, Spanish Language Acquisitions Editor at Discipleship Ministries, a Spanish Version of the Spiritual Listening Plan is now available!
This week in partnership with Path 1, I’m launching a Listening Cohort with 12 Hispanic/Latino congregations in the Rio Texas Conference of the UMC. We’ll walk through the Plan Para Escuchar Espiritualmente together as a launching board for creating new faith communities next year. I’m excited to see what these congregations discover about God, themselves, and their neighbors through this process!
If you know any Hispanic/Latino/Latinx church leaders that might benefit from the Spanish Version of the plan consider forwarding this to them!
On a related note, Substack is working on improving translation on this platform so hopefully this newsletter will be more accessible in other languages soon!
