Church is Changing
Moving from solution-centered programs to contemplative listening as a way to build loving community
I was recently invited by Beth Estock to be a guest on her podcast, Church is Changing. For those who don’t know Beth, she is one of the sages of the United Methodist Church. She has been in new church development for a long time, leading the denomination in new forms of church, and she is one of those wise, contemplative leaders who I trust when thinking about the future of the church. You all would enjoy her book Discernment: Spiritual Practices of Building a Life of Faith.
In this episode we talk about deep listening and dive into the Spiritual Listening Plan. I enjoyed hearing her thoughts and reflections about the plan and definitely fanboyed when she said she had the plan pinned on her bulletin board. I think you’ll enjoy our conversation.
